Jerusalem:

Yeshua in the Passover

Every element of the Passover seder whispers the name of the Messiah. From the lamb to the bread to the cup of redemption, Yeshua is woven through the entire feast.

The Lamb Without Blemish

On the night of redemption, every household took a lamb without blemish, and its blood on the doorposts caused death to pass over. John the Immerser saw Yeshua and declared Him the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.

Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
– John 1:29

The Broken Middle Matzah

In the seder, the middle of three pieces of matzah is broken, hidden away, and later brought back — a striking picture of the Messiah broken for us, buried, and raised. Pierced and striped, the unleavened bread tells His story.

The Cup of Redemption

Of the four cups in the seder, it was the cup of redemption that Yeshua lifted when He said, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood." The ancient feast found its fullest meaning in the upper room.

This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.
– Luke 22:20

Conclusion

Passover is not a feast Yeshua abolished but one He filled with His own life. To keep it with eyes opened to Him is to taste the depth of our redemption and to remember the price of our freedom.
